Amadeus RailAgent – A New Amtrak Booking Experience

Amadeus has been moving its technology from TPF (Transactions Processing Facility) to more flexible open and Web-based systems. As part of this technology change, older systems interfacing with Amadeus must be migrated into a Web-based interface. The time has come for Amtrak’s final leg. Amtrak is already available for you to book through Amadeus RailAgent.

The second Vancouver, BC train is here!

The long awaited second daily Amtrak Cascades train between Seattle and Vancouver, B.C. began service on Wednesday, August 19, 2009. With the addition of this second train service, travelers from Oregon will now have direct round-trip service between Portland, Oregon and Vancouver, B.C.

Amtrak will take to the world stage as tourism partners from countries around the globe arrive in Germany by plane, train, ferry and automobile. This week will features meetings, greetings and new partnerships. Amtrak core competencies will be emphasize: relative easy of travel, traveling the green way, city-to-city service, room to roam, a dining delight and the "Amtrak Adventure.  Amtrak will be in the midst of a world wind of opportunity as  more than 180,000 visitors, among these 108,000 trade visitors, and over 10,000 exhibitors from 180 countries descend upon ITB Berlin.  Amtrak presence at ITB provides a platform for passenger rail to be featured amongst the partners that influence the purchasing decisions of the traveling public.
